ABSTRACT
The propeller shaft transmits drive from the gearbox output to final in rear axle. objective of this paper is perform analysis a typical SUV (suburban/sport utility vehicle) under static and fatigue loading. A hollow steel tube used for shaft. It lightweight but will still transfer considerable torque resist bending forces. modeling done CATIA V5R20 while finite element carried out ANSYS 15.0 software package. von-Mises stress shear are within allowable limit. obtained value 1st mode frequency higher than excitation corresponding engine maximum torque. This ensures avoidance resonance. life as 1.6938e+05 cycles, using modified Goodman relation pulsating torsion.
