ABSTRACT
In this letter, a new analysis technique for finding the convexity of iterative maximum likelihood (IML) methods direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation is presented. The proposed can pave way in avoiding local solution when IML are utilized to estimate DOA, especially scenarios array with large antennas. From derivation, we see that as long initial DOA belongs approximate convex range estimated by our technique, very well without entering into minima, which particularly true arrays. Furthermore, numerical experiments show us results tallied theoretical derivations.
