Coverage and determinants of childhood vaccination during the COVID-19 pandemic in Fortaleza, Northeastern Brazil: a longitudinal analysis

ABSTRACT
Abstract: Brazil has seen a decrease in vaccination coverage since 2016. This study analyzes the immunization status of children born during COVID-19 pandemic Fortaleza, Northeastern Brazil. is longitudinal analysis that included data 313 aged 12 and 18 months. Vaccination cards were checked for dose application considering schedule recommended by Brazilian Ministry Health. Factors associated with no retention incomplete months identified Tobit regression analysis. About 73% mothers presented their child’s card. Non-availability was maternal age < 25 years paid jobs. Only 33% 45% had all vaccines up to date, respectively. For 3-dose vaccines, delay rate around 10% first application, but 40% third dose. Despite delays, most available vaccine above 90% age. Adjusted factors living household more than one child (p = 0.010) monthly income less minimum wage 0.006). Therefore, delays high considerable uptake found. Poorer families particularly at risk not fully immunizing should be target public policies.
