ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: The objective was to estimate the most appropriate digestible methionine + cysteine:lysine ratios for growing meat-type quails (Coturnix coturnix) from 1 21 days of age. Quails were fed with a basal ration deficient in cysteine, five levels DL-methionine, substitution glutamic acid and starch, resulting 0.61, 0.66, 0.71, 0.76 0.81. Feed cysteine intake, body weight gain, feed conversion uniformity assessed. From 7 days, an increasing linear effect observed uniformity, decrease conversion. 8 14 0.70 cysteine: lysine ratio best intake 0.75 appropriate. For conversion, decreasing adjustment observed, respectively. 15 gain; 0.81 efficient during all evaluated experimental periods. In conclusion, dietary is first
