ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: Among the diseases that affect reproductive system of domestic animals, brucellosis in sheep species is important because it generates significant economic losses to rearing. Thus, a threat growth and productivity herds. In face this problem, objective present research was identify prevalence ovine herds municipalities Teresina, Piauí, Brazil microregion by using agar gel immunodiffusion assay (AGID) indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent (ELISA) serological tests. Fourteen were included research. Blood samples collected from 521 pubescent animals puncturing jugular vein. After collection, submitted techniques, AGID ELISA, detect anti B. ovis antibody. Of AGIDtest, 23 (4.41%) sera reagent 498 (95.58%) negative. The ELISA tests, 24 (4.61%) suspect 497 (95.39%) negative obtained, there no test, only suspect. seroprevalence Piauí 4.41%. possible with serology infection ovis, state Brazil. Furthermore, AGIDwas shown be more sensitive detecting had contact etiological agent disease.
