ABSTRACT
PURPOSE: To investigate the effect of medical ozone treatment on experimental acute distal colitis in rats. METHODS: Eighteen rats were randomly distributed into three equal groups; control, (ADC) without and with treatment. Rats control group taken saline. ADC was performed by rectal way 4% acetic acid groups 2 3, 3 treated for weeks both rectally intraperitoneally. At twenty second day colons samples obtained malondialdehyde myeloperoxidase, blood to measure levels TNF-α IL-1β levels. Histolopatological examination evaluated Ki-67, VEGF immunostaining densities. RESULTS: There significant increase tissue MDA, MPO activity, after administration. also a difference at densities histopathological examination. CONCLUSIONS: Medical ameliorated induced Its possible is means decreasing inflammation, edema, affecting proliferation vascularization.
