ABSTRACT
The global changes are marked by alteration on the normal patterns of important biochemical and biophysical processes Earth. However, real effects as well feedbacks over vegetation still unclear. Part this uncertainty can be attributed to inattention stakeholders scientists towards its complex interrelations with environment, which drive plant physiological in different space-time scales. Notwithstanding, some key subjects could better elucidated a more ecology approach. We discuss issues related topic, going through limitations approaching static component biosphere other sub-systems Earth-system change. With perspective, review is an initial reflection assessment role place structure function context. reviewed terminology; attempted illustrate researches themes context; consider plants systems order adequately quantify characteristics sensibility, homeostasis, vulnerability. Moreover, we propose insights that would allow studies scaling procedures context Earth-system. hope will assist researchers their strategy identify, understand anticipate potential most vulnerable from leaf levels.
