ABSTRACT
Phylogenetic relationships among the four currently recognized species in genus Erimyzon were reconstructed using sequence data obtained from mitochondrially encoded COI and nuclear-encoded IRBP2 genes. Maximum likelihood Bayesian analyses yielded five groups of Erimyzon. Three clades corresponded to E. oblongus, tenuis, claviformis. Individuals identified as sucetta split into two separate clades, with one clade more closely related oblongus than other three analyses. Two instances putative hybridization between sympatrically distributed also detected, involving claviformis tenuis. The results suggest that comprises species, potentially non-overlapping distributions. Further morphological investigation is warranted provide additional support for recognizing this fifth
