ABSTRACT
The results of a study on the fauna Cerambycidae tropical dry forest "El Aguacero," Chiapas, Mexico are presented. Data were obtained during year monthly collections and records sporadic carried out mainly rainy season. A total 203 species, representing 119 genera, 42 tribes four subfamilies recorded. Seventy-nine species recorded for first time state Chiapas. with greater numbers genera Cerambycinae 111, 66 22 Lamiinae 81, 45 16, respectively. greatest Stenosphenus Haldeman, Sphaenothecus Dupont, Lepturges Bates Phaea Newman six each Anelaphus Linsley, Psyrassa Pascoe, Neocompsa Martins Acyphoderes Serville five each. largest number was June (101) least March (two); individuals September February. Seasonally, 165 collected season, 17 season 21 both. Six hundred twenty two 249 abundance pattern showed few abundant many (63% represented by three or fewer individuals). most cribripennis Thomson (51 individuals), Essostrutha laeta (Newman) (45), Ironeus pulcher (43), Ochraethes sp. near O. sommeri (Chevrolat) (38), toledoi Chemsak Noguera (33), trilineatus Dupont (31), pollinosa Chevrolat (31) maccartyi (30). seasonal activity as adults restricted, 141 found only one month 37 months. Aguacero" compared other similar sites in Mexico, is more to that Chamela, Jalisco than Huautla, Morelos; sharing 78 41 second.
