ABSTRACT
The knowledge of the status different fruit fly species and their hosts is essential to manage these insects. This work reports associations tephritoid (Tephritidae Lonchaeidae) with fruits collected from 67 municipalities in Sã;o Paulo State, Brazil. From Mar 1997 Sep 2003, a total 536 samples was 63 plant 28 botanical families. overall collections, average infestation index ranged 0.01 22.98 pupae per fruit. highest observed Cucurbita moschata (Dusc.) Poir, followed by Mangifera indica Linnaeus Passiflora alata Curtis, 107.14, 59.00, 38.50 pupae/ fruit, respectively. pupae/kg Manihot esculenta Crantz 277.91 Citharexylum myrianthum Cham. In 43,104 26,368 adults Tephritoidea were recovered all collections. following observed: Anastrepha amita Zucchi, bahiensis Lima, distincta Greene, Anastrepha. fraterculus (Wied.), grandis (Macquart), leptozona Hendel, obliqua pseudoparallela (Loew), serpentina sororcula Ceratitis capitata (Wied.)
