ABSTRACT
Leptin is a hormone that regulates food intake, energy expenditure and body weight. Our previous studies have demonstrated the taste organ new peripheral target for leptin in mice. selectively inhibits responses of nerves receptor cells to sweet substances without affecting sour, salty, bitter substances. Still, there no convincing evidence existence receptors (Ob-Rs) cells, especially functional isoform Ob-Rb. We investigated expression 5 different Ob-R isoforms (a-e) 6 STAT (signal transducers activators transcription) members mouse cells. STATs are considered be involved signaling via Semiquantitative RT-PCR analysis showed Ob-Rb was expressed buds fungiform circumvallate papillae, but not so clearly surrounding epithelial tissue. The pattern among three tissues similar cell specific G-protein, α-gustducin. other were widely detected either papillae or Among members, STAT3 highest relative abundance mRNA buds. Consistently, situ hybridization while signals some bud observed tissue In conclusion, present study provides receptor, Ob-Rb, This finding further confirms involvement control sensitivities
