ABSTRACT
This study aimed to investigate the effects of different concentrations apilarnil (APL) added semen diluent on short-term storage ram semen. For this purpose, six Akkaraman rams aged 1.5 years were used in outside breeding season. Semen was collected from twice a week with help an artificial vagina. first analyzed and ejaculates total motility score 70% above pooled. The pooled divided into 5 equal parts reconstituted tris-egg yolk containing 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1%.5% 2% APL. Diluted samples stored at 4oC for 72 hours. As result analyses, no statistically significant difference observed between groups terms 0 hour, while progressive significantly higher 0.5% APL group (P < .005). While rapid spermatozoa rate, curvilinear velocity (VCL), linear (VSL) high control all time periods, medium, slow rates 1% 1.5% .05). At hours, had highest malondialdehyde (MDA) level .001). Glutathione (GSH) glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) catalase (CAT) activities lower In conclusion, 0.5-1.5% has positive effect quality oxidant status.
