ABSTRACT
The effects of feeding Atriplex halimus treated with three developed enzyme cocktails to Barki sheep on feed intake, nutrient digestibility, N utilization, and ruminal fermentation were assessed. A. was ensiled two ZAD1® (Z1) and/or ZAD2® (Z2) as liquid preparations (2 l/t) 5% molasses for 30 days. Three rams (45 ± 3.2 kg) used per treatment in five consecutive digestibility trials, while ewes fitted a permanent rumen fistula source inoculum vitro trials. Barley grain (300 g/animal/day) fed energy supplement during the experimental trial all diets. Five diets composed follows: (leaves stems) (D1); untreated plus 4 g/animal/day ZADO® (Z) (enzyme preparation powder form) (D2); Z1 barley Z (D3); Z2 (D3) (D4); combination (1 : 1) g/head/day (D5). For ad libitum offered twice day at 9:00 16:00 h given once 10:00 h. Both D1 D2 increased (P <0.001) dry matter intake total intake. Addition g/day improved < 0.0001) organic matter, crude protein, fibre, neutral detergent fibre digestibilities. Diets 0.001) whereas direct addition Zto D3, D4, D5 decreased balance balance/N absorption ratio. Sheep showed higher improvements volatile fatty acids 0.001), ammonia = 0.007), microbial protein production 0.003). It can be concluded that Zenzyme nitrogen well fermentation.
