ABSTRACT
Plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) treated ceramic coatings were formed in silicate-based electrolytes without and with the addition of Al2O3, on an aluminum alloy. It was found that coating produced electrolyte containing 7 g/L Al2O3 exhibited most superior corrosion properties. The properties 0.5 M 1 NaCl solutions studied by means potentiodynamic polarization electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). results proved can protect substrate from due to aggressive Cl– after 384-h immersion. However, it cannot immersion solution. matched well EIS test results.
