ABSTRACT
Objective. To analyze the degree of bonding puerperae with their babies, both in isolation and associated experiences during after labor. Methods. A crosssectional study carried out among 200 São José do Rio Preto, Brazil. evaluate motherchild bond, we used Mother-to-Infant Bonding Scale (MIBS).Results. The mean age was 26.4 years; most women were white (60.0%), married (87.5%), had an elementary education (51.5%). Most deliveries cesarean (80.0% cases); 68.0% no pain labor, only 54% skin-to-skin contact immediately delivery. Type labor did not significantly change maternal lack negatively influenced bond. Conclusion. Pueperae participants a high babies that is mainly related to history contact. Nurses must promote strategies encourage between mother newborn delivery room.
