ABSTRACT
Due to the so-called refugee crisis and Netherlands’ development into a ‘participation society’, reception there has recently shifted its focus early fast participation. In this context, numerous community initiatives have emerged support integration. Compared earlier restrictive approaches, through active engagement of newcomers in seems promise more inclusive approach, deepening democracy. However, such internal external challenges that might inhibit refugees’ participation initiatives’ adoption approaches. qualitative research, we explored opportunities for inclusion refugees initiatives, considering context normalizing exclusive discourses increasingly neoliberal policies on reception.
