ABSTRACT
Fault detection and location is a critically significant application of supervisory control system in smart grid. The methods based on random matrix theory (RMT) have been practiced using measurements to detect short circuit faults occurring transmission lines. However, the diagnostic accuracy influenced by noise signal measurements. relationship between mean eigenvalue deduced this paper, defects Mean Spectral Radius (MSR) as an indicator fault are pointed out theoretically. Therefore, novel shifting degree maximum its threshold By comparing threshold, occurrence can be assessed. Finally, augmented constructed locate area. proposed method effectively achieve via RMT without any influence noise. Also, it does not depend models. experiment results done IEEE 39-bus system. actual provincial grid data applied validate effectiveness method.
