The Bananal/Cantão Island Protected Area (APA) is the largest Área in Tocantins State and second soybean producing region Tocantins, establishing a relationship of economic, social environmental interests that are often conflicting.This article presents evolution main factors involve crop APA.By means bibliographical researches, field visits interviews with farmers APA, it was demonstrated growth more than 1,700% areas planted soybeans over period 8 years, which there significant deforestation region.It has also been identified cultivation takes place large property, encouraged by climate low land prices, lack skilled labor difficulty encountered soy farmers.It noncompliance legislation local producers.
