Knowledge and menstrual hygiene practices among adolescent secondary school girls in Ebonyi State, Nigeria

ABSTRACT
Background: Menstrual hygiene is an aspect of sexuality education that people do not want to discuss publicly. Because this most adolescent girl are bereaved knowledge about menstrual practices. Therefore, the present study attempted ascertain and practices among secondary school girls in Ebonyi state, Nigeria.Methods: This was institutional based cross-sectional conducted from 11th July 9th September 2021 Ikwo local government area, State, Nigeria. Data were collected 400 participant using administered questionnaire. However, out participants, 315 properly filled fit for analysis.Result: From a total participated study, majority 251 (79.7%) possess good while 64 (20.3%) has poor The result further indicated significant association between age groups (Chi square=10.862; p=0.004 <0.05); class level square=23.601; p=0.000<0.05) adolescents’ respectively.Conclusions: There need at all level, health educators parents design acceptable awareness creation advocacy programs improve especially their early adolescents those lower so as promote safe hygienic during menstruation.
