ABSTRACT
Astrocytomas are the most common primary brain tumor with prognosis highly dependent on Grading of tumor. With limited tissue available in stereotactic biopsy and often not representing area concern, development new antibodies targeted against specific proteins mitotically active cells is necessary. Ki67/MIB-1 LI has conventionally been used along mitotic count to grade astrocytomas. However Ki67 limitation that it expressed by through cell cycle difficult differentiate from apoptotic cells. In this study, thirty cases various grades astrocytomas were labelled Mitosin PHH3 Index compared Mitotic MIB-1 LI. The present study depicted statistically significant difference amongst Also indicated a positive correlation all four markers proliferative index, strongest being between Mitosin. Immunohistochemical determination activity using may assist histopathological diagnosis. Keywords: Tumors astrocytoma ki67 PHH3, mitosin Labelling index index.
