ABSTRACT
Abstract Over the past few years, San Jose State University (SJSU) has mandated that all of undergraduate degree programs including engineering degrees be set at 120 units. With existing number units for BS degrees, this mandatory requirement led to new innovations in General Education (GE) SJSU. We have created a two-course sequence support integration upper division into major. Advanced GE SJSU is designed help students become integrated thinkers who can see connections between and among variety concepts ideas. In College Engineering SJSU, we believe it critical integrate student learning outcomes their studies. these two courses, are challenged understand relationship broader community both U.S. worldwide. addition assignments course, faculty linked activities senior project courses allow apply your disciplines. The level general education classes take case study approach. Each module will specific deliverables written materials resource links, discussion questions, assignments. addition, themes addressed (and questions) each would then provide guidance writing end semester “application papers” where they consider issues inherent own design project. This presentation describe implementation hybrid GE/senior course present assessment first year program’s implementation.
