ABSTRACT
The contribution describes the major problem with secondary (recycled) alloys as presence of unwanted elements due to remelting Alscrap negatively affecting quality AlSi7Mg0.6cast alloy.Iron is most harmful impurity in Al-Si alloys, leading formation β-Fe-rich (Al5FeSi) intermetallic phases that promotes forming casting defects such porosity and shrinkage by its needle-like shape.Suitable neutralizer alloying elements, Mn, influence Fe-needle-like lead less Mncontaining α-Fe-rich phases. To optimize morphology properties it necessary study effects individual elements. Therefore, this focused on effect Mn addition Fe-rich defects, thus evaluation shape distribution AlSi7Mg0.6secondary alloy.
