Liver Involvement in Childhood Cancers: Clinical and Laboratory Insights

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Liver involvement is observed in various malignancies and characterized by abnormal liver function tests, imaging findings, or clinical signs linked to the liver. This study aimed evaluate hepatic manifestations childhood malignancies. Materials Methods: cross-sectional descriptive analyzed children under 18 with malignancy admitted pediatric oncology ward between April 2016 2020. Results: Among 130 patients studied, 82 (63%) were male, 48 (37%) female. The mean age was 5.9 ± 4.31 years. Patients hepatoblastoma, lymphoma, leukemia exhibited highest rates of enzyme levels. Elevated aspartate aminotransferase levels most frequently noted hepatoblastoma (83.3%), non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (58.3%), acute lymphoblastic (32.7%). Similarly, elevated alanine (50%), Hodgkin’s (16.7%), myeloblastic (22.2%). Hepatomegaly common liver-related sign, occurring 41.5% patients. Conclusion: findings indicate that laboratory highly prevalent among Such can provide insights into disease progression play a critical role treatment planning.
