ABSTRACT
Background and purpose: Communication skill is a key ability an integral part of the nursing profession. This study aimed to investigate effect communication skills training nurses on patients’ satisfaction with staff in teaching hospitals affiliated Shiraz University Medical Sciences.Method: Cross-sectional was carried out 2017. The research population consisted patients visiting 13 SUMS-affiliated hospitals, 581 who participated courses, 2,207 did not receive this training. From population, total 400 were selected through convenience sampling 50 trained untrained chosen randomly. data collection instruments Nurse Quality Patient Questionnaire (NQCPQ) La Monica-Oberst Satisfaction Scale (LOPSS). Data analyzed SPSS using T-test, ANOVA, Tukey test, Pearson correlation coefficient at α = 5%.Results: A significant found between nursing-patient commination score patient (LOPSS) (P=0.021, r 0.647). Patients under care also be more satisfied services than those served by (P=0.011, t=2.56). results showed that had relationship age marital status (p =0.027).Conclusions: present implementation courses for can lead improved satisfaction. Hospital directors then recommended hold regular their staff.
