ABSTRACT
Purpose of the study: This paper was aimed at determining population’s vulnerability to natural disasters in Runnymede Village Tzaneen Local Municipality, South Africa. Methodology: The researchers used qualitative research approach and exploratory design. A total number 16 participants took part study. consisted small-scale farmers, social workers, disaster management members. Data collected through individual semi-structured focus group interviews analysed thematically. Main Findings: study found that impoverished people rural areas, living with disabilities, children, women are mainly vulnerable disasters. thus concludes areas more prone impact due geopolitical, structural, cultural systems. Applications this People’s relatives, friends, others close them can disappear alongside their livelihoods, homes, hospitals, roads, transport, telecommunications networks, schools. These effects trigger various emotions such as fear, anger, grief community To end, members will receive holistic intervention from relevant who be providing psychosocial support. Novelty/Originality contributes positively field service, provides guidelines workers address Due educational background, should fight injustices predisposed to. They could challenge these (inequalities) infringe on individuals’ rights dignity other associated rights.
