ABSTRACT
Sleep disorder has become a prevalent issue in current society and is connected with the deterioration of neurobehaviors such as mood, cognition memory.Ellagic acid (EA) phenolic phytoconstituent extracted from grains fruits that potent neuroprotective properties.This research aimed to study alleviative effect mechanism EA on memory impairment anxiety caused by sleep deprivation (SD).EA ameliorated behavioral abnormalities SD mice, associated increased dendritic spine density, reduced shrinkage loss hippocampal neurons.EA inflammatory response oxidative stress injury SD, which may be related activation Nrf2/HO-1 pathway mitigation TLR4-induced response.In addition, significantly mortality ROS levels glutamate (Glu)-induced neuron injury, these effects were enhanced TLR4 siRNA-transfected neurons.However, knockdown Nrf2 dramatically restrained protective impact Glu-induced toxicity.Taken together, alleviated sleep-deprived mice potentially inhibiting activating Nrf2.Our findings suggested promising nutraceutical ingredient prevent cognitive loss.
