ABSTRACT
Accumulating evidence demonstrates that the long non-coding RNA Growth Arrest-Specific 5 (Gas5) has practical significance in cancer progression and metastasis. However, its role function papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) remains unknown. In this study, we aimed to explore potential involvement of Gas5 carcinogenesis highlight emerging roles ceRNAs biological regulation PTC cells. The results suggested was markedly downregulated both tissues cell lines. Over-expression remarkably suppressed cells proliferation vitro inhibited growth tumor vivo likewise. Furthermore, identified as a target miR-222-3p which aberrantly high Enhanced expression promoted while knocking down could inhibit it. advanced effects on be partly reversed by upregulation expression. validated increased protein level PTEN, one miR-222-3p's targets, further activated PTEN/AKT pathway. Taken together, our study suppressive acting ceRNA, effectively becoming sink for miR-222-3p, modulating lead pathway activation suppression. This finding may offer new therapeutic strategy PTC.
