ABSTRACT
Marital status was reported as a prognostic factor in many cancers. However, its role gastric cancer (GC) hasn't been thoroughly explored. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of marital on survival, stage, treatment, and survival subgroups. We used Surveillance, Epidemiology End Results (SEER) database identified 16910 GC patients. These patients were categorized into married (58.44%) unmarred (41.56%) groups. Pearson chi-square, Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney, Log-rank, multivariate Cox regression, univariate binomial or multinomial logistic regression analysis our analysis. Subgroup analyses versus unmarried summarized forest plot.Married had better 5-year overall (OS) (32.09% VS 24.61%, P<0.001) cancer-caused special (CSS) (37.74% 32.79%, than ones. Then studied several underlying mechanisms. Firstly, weren't earlier stage at diagnosis (P=0.159). Secondly, more likely receive surgery (P < 0.001) radiotherapy compared with unmarried. Thirdly, subgroup analyses, still advantage subgroups II-IV no radiotherapy. These results showed that an independently for both OS CSS Undertreatment lack social support potential explanations. With knowledge heterogeneous effects marriage subgroups, can target support, especially who are diagnosed late undergo treatment.
