ABSTRACT
To inform the design and implementation of land-use policies that consider variety goods services people derive from ecosystems, it is essential to understand spatial patterns individual services, how multiple relate each other, these relationships vary across scales localities. Despite importance freshwater as a determinant regional economic human demographic patterns, there are surprisingly few studies map provision range associated with quality aquatic environment. Here we examine between indicators riverine water habitat quality, biodiversity, three terrestrial ecosystem biodiversity England Wales. The results indicate strong associations our services. However, comparison other (carbon storage, agricultural production, recreation) species conservation concern in surrounding landscape shows no clear relationships. While potential policy "win-wins" for protection shown by carbon storage upland areas Britain, showed either negative or We also influence scale has on using River Basin Districts. Our can change dramatically depending societal pressures conditions. Thus, delivery requires development strategies, national strategies take account variation.
