ABSTRACT
Pereskia aculeata Plum. (Ora pro nobis, Cactaceae) is a plant of medicinal interest and alimentary value to present high contents fibers proteins. However, information regarding the physiological aspects in initial growth stage seedlings incipient. Thus, aim this work was know photosynthetic metabolism P. propagated by cuttings under irradiance contrasts. The experiment conducted two light conditions (full sun 50% shading), evaluating types apical, median basal cuttings. experimental arrangement 2 x 3 factorial scheme, randomized complete block design, with four replications. Photosynthetic pigments, chlorophyll-a fluorescence emission gas exchange were quantified. Results showed that highest levels chlorophylls photochemical efficiencies observed apical cultivated shading (low irradiance). rates CO2 assimilation, Rubisco efficiency water use when using full (high propagation maintained or low irradiance, provided greater capacity seedlings, may be indicated for species.
