ABSTRACT
The roles of ascorbate and glutathione as key antioxidant molecules involves in environmental stress responses have already been well indicated. We conducted experiments order to study the effects exogenous (ASC) (GSH) treatments on enzyme activities ASC GSH levels cultivated wild type chickpea plants under drought stress. determined that accumulation, increased due stress, except for CAT activity, both species. treatment level APX activity C. arietinum high concentration treatment. Antioxidant accumulation reticulatum did not lead significantly changes GR However, via eliminating reactive oxygen species decreased SOD, reticulatum. results present indicate may contribute improvement tolerance against chickpea. Also, tolerant showed a better protection mechanism oxidative damage than sensitive
