ABSTRACT
Background: For many years, the acceptable margins of resections for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) has been 2 mm, although, some reports and recent updates guidelines, closer are also declared as circumstances. Despite these new recommendations, safe margin DCIS remains a matter controversy institutional national guidelines. Case Presentation: A woman with invasive breast cancer associated presented to our clinic. She underwent breast-conserving surgery, pathology report showed one focus at distance <?1 mm from inked margin. This case was weekly multidisciplinary team session Department Breast Surgery, Tehran University Medical Sciences. Question: The question whether patient should be operated again obtain more extensive or radiation therapy would enough next step her treatment. Conclusion: According latest published members panel decided accept informed about risk recurrence need adjuvant radiotherapy follow-up modalities.
