ABSTRACT
This present study aims to assess the Placenta Neutrophil Count (PNC) as an early marker in diagnosis of Neonatal Sepsis (NS).This was conducted February-May 2017.Cord blood samples and placental tissues were taken from 15 newborns at risk sepsis (case group) without (control group). The PNC estimated using a conventional light microscope. We also measured some oxidative stress parameters cord samples, i.e., hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), thiocyanate (SCN), myeloperoxidase (MPO) enzyme, Advance Oxidation Protein Products (AOPPs) investigate role neutrophil placenta. The results show that PNC, level AOPPs SCN, MPO activity higher case group than control group, while H2O2 shows opposite result. From these results, it can be assumed neutrophils have NS might used potential for prediction NS.These indings need veriied by further investigating fresh larger, prospective cohort sophisticated analysis evidenced deep sequencing. The pathologic histologic examination has been diagnostic tool neonatologists many neonatal diseases, except NS.This result suggested predictor NS.
