ABSTRACT
Type 1 Diabetes mellitus (DM) is associated with the development of cardiovascular disease. In this study we aimed to determine left atrial function two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D-STE) and identify cardiac autonomic dysfunction P wave analysis in pediatric patients Mellitus (DM). 63 36 healthy controls were included study. Conventional transthoracic echocardiography, 2D-STE, 12-lead surface electrocardiography performed all patients. The LA strain (LA S) parameters: systolic [LA S-S], early diastolic S-E], late S-A] strains assessed. LAV index (LAVI) was calculated as divided by body area. Maximum duration (Pmax), minimum (Pmin) dispersion (Pdis) measured from electrocardiogram. S-S ([39.91±9.08 vs 45.88±8.85], p= 0.018), S-E ([26.86±7.54 29.77±7.65], 0.012 ), S-A ([13.43±4.68 15.82±5.02], 0.022), E/A ratio ([1.76±0.37 2.11±0.34], 0.024) values significantly lower, mean LAVI (ml/m2) ([26.10±2.81 23.53±2.04], 0.028) mitral valve A velocity ([0.58±0.14 0.50±0.10], 0.032) found be higher patient group compared control group. Pdis Pmax intervals longer 2D-STE showed impaired type DM, may develop dysfunction. This diagnosed on ECG even when are asymptomatic.
