ABSTRACT
The objectives of this study were (a) to evaluate the correlation environmental factors with site index Japanese cedar, and (b) develop best-fit equation model for index. Multiple regression models a sugi plantation in Niigata Prefecture constructed using as independent variables. used climate data (snow depth), soil type topographical (aspect, slope, elevation, hillshade, distance from ridge, wetness curvature). Through backward stepwise procedure, hillshade selected model. In multiple coefficient was 0.523, standard error estimate 2.84m.
