ABSTRACT
Two-dimensional principal component analysis (2DPCA) was performed to examine ionospheric 2D total electron content (TEC) variations obtained from the NASA Global Differential GPS (GDGPS) network, which consisted of low spatial resolution TEC data, detect precursors prior China Ludian earthquake at 08:30:13 UT on 03 August 2014 (M = 6.1). Results have shown that two were observed three days this earthquake. The characteristics all eigenvalues considered determine in study. This study aimed differentiate previous studies Lin about PCA and 2DPCA using only characteristic first eigenvalue However, some other could be lost processes do not analyze eigenvalues. Therefore, research can as a full examined detailed surrounding treated new scope. precursor during 06:15 06:20 (UT) 01 localized near epicenter more intense compared with largest eigenvalue. another found intense, far east plausible reason for density variances caused by radon-gas release due fine crack stress transfer rocks according Coulomb theory applied precursor. durations both least 5 min. examination precursors.
