ABSTRACT
An all-weather land surface temperature (LST) product derived at the Satellite Application Facility on Land Surface Analysis (LSA-SAF) is presented. The based clear-sky LST retrieved from MSG/SEVIRI infrared (IR) measurements, complemented by estimated with a energy balance (EB) model to fill gaps caused clouds. EB solves mostly using products LSA-SAF. new compared in situ observations made 3 dedicated validation stations, and Microwave (MW) AMSR-E measurements. against in-situ indicates an accuracy of between -0.8 K 1.1 precision 1.0 1.4 K, generally showing better performance than MW product. shows some limitations concerning representation diurnal cycle. Comparisons show higher over desert areas, lower tropical regions. Several other imagers provide suitable measurements for implementing proposed methodology, which offers potential obtain global, nearly gap-free
