ABSTRACT
Background: Simulations have historically aided training programs by providing a realistic and holistic replication of professional scenarios procedures. developed over the past 40 years to include varying fidelities modalities simulation. Learning in simulation-centered environment has benefits, ranging from improved patient care specific skills acquisition while catering students’ numerous varied learning approaches. Simulation is multifaceted field that benefits all parties, teachers, learners, patients. The application simulation medical education its amalgamation with other modes substitutes allows for more integrated testing curriculum advances current trajectory education. Such developments, however, are limited resource rich areas, leaving behind low-middle income countries use traditional, less evolved methodologies practices. This review aimed explore different aspects focus specifically on low-cost task trainers their accessibility. Method: purpose study was assess accessibility terms cost-effectiveness, distribution, validation, frequency within specialties. To do so, 84 PubMed publications been screened, 39 filtered research studies collected necessary data. After analyzing papers, we classified following information – process, specialization, validation (y/n), costs, development location, year publication. Results: carefully accumulated data selected publications, found most (i.e., 6 out 39) were published 2020. Emergency Medicine common specialty which (9 procedural simulators); Otolaryngology followed this 8 general surgery 7/39 task-trainers. price ranges fluctuated fell bracket USD 0 400 collectively. Our also uncovered concentration such innovations solely high (HICs). Conclusion: an invaluable tool applicable diverse range phases Future conjunction along increased encouragement enthusiasm towards developing cost effective simulation-based environments (SBLEs) reserves requirements these areas mind may prove be reliable option low middle settings
