ABSTRACT
Centralized control algorithm limits the hardware flexibility of a Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC). Therefore, industrial MMC applications have started adopting distributed structures. Even though controller reduces single point failure risk compared to centralized controller, entire systems increases due number local controllers. However, can be programmed in such way as bypass faulty and take care power modules with adjacent This paper implements modular fault-tolerant for scaled laboratory prototype. Experimental results show that an operate without interruption, even under two failures. Besides, experimental are verified Opal-RT, real-time simulator same Control Hardware Loop (CHIL) environment.
