Automated Monitoring of the Uniform Demagnetization Faults in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors: Practical Methods and Challenges

ABSTRACT
Due to its high power, efficiency, low pollution, and compact size, permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) have been widely used in a variety of fields, including electric vehicles, aerospace, wind turbines, marine devices which are renewable, sustainable, environmentally friendly energy resources. However, these practical scenarios, the motor operating conditions complex variable. Under temperatures current conditions, PMSMs may experience demagnetization failures, not only leading performance degradation but also inducing unexpected failures motors. To reduce risk losses caused by faults improve safety reliability systems, it is necessary apply automated monitoring flux motor's magnets achieve real-time diagnosis early faults, ensuring safe operation motor. This review article tries summarize detecting methods PMSMs. The main online technologies from both academic perspectives were summarized their benefits challenges reviewed.
