ABSTRACT
The antibacterial activities of plant flavonoids have increasingly paid a more attention to. antimicrobial quantitative structure-activity relationship was established for against gram-positive bacteria, and its major action site confirmed as the cell membrane in our previous works. To understand whether there are similar modes Gram-negative to -positive here minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) thirty-seven Escherichia coli were determined using microdilution broth method, then correlation between their lipophilic parameter ACD/LogP or LogD7.40 values MICs analyzed. Combined with those correlations analyses from forty-six reported, results showed that is significantly LogP bacteria. However, it difficult predict gram-negative parameters like Gram-positive After compared characters two regression curves further found most bacteria greater than when less about 3.0, but which 3.6. Moreover, different mainly acting on comparison both proposed multiple while among them also an important site. reported data, suggested DNA gyrase another target
