ABSTRACT
Abstract: This study aimed at investigating the effects of Valencia KK4-type peanut skin ethanolic extract (KK4-PSE) in combination with cisplatin or 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) against HeLa cells vitro and xenograft models. MTT assay showed that KK4-PSE, cisplatin, 5-FU suppressed proliferation a dose time dependent manner. Drug interactions by Chou-Talalay method demonstrated KK4-PSE enhanced antiproliferative activity index (CI) values 0.49 (48 h) 0.60 (72 h), indicating synergistic effect, while combined exhibited an additive effect (CI = 1.02) antagonistic 24 48 h exposures 1.12 1.18, respectively). In nude mouse models, markedly reduced tumor weights compared control single agent treatments. The achieved greater growth inhibition than KK4-PSE-cisplatin combination. mitigated hepatotoxicity induced both mice. spleen hyaloserositis was significantly treatment KK4-PSE. These findings suggest potential to inhibit cervical cancer cell alleviating toxicities 5-FU.
