ABSTRACT
Background: Hepatitis A virus (HAV) is a leading cause of acute viral hepatitis and primarily transmitted via the faecal-oral route. The clinical presentation progression disease vary based on patient’s age. Turkey classified as an intermediate endemic country, HAV infection remains significant public health issue worldwide. Methods: This study conducted systematic meta-analysis to evaluate age-specific seroprevalence rates in from 2000 2023. comprehensive literature search identified 177 articles, which 57 met inclusion criteria. Studies were assessed for quality categorized by age groups: 0-<5, 5-<15, 15-35, >35 years older. Statistical analysis was performed using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software (CMA) SPSS. Results: found that group 0-<5 73.18%, 5-<15 46.88%, 15-35 55.77%, those aged 90.90%. overall seroprevalence, calculated random effects model, 64.5% (95% CI: 58.3-70). High heterogeneity (I² = 99.77) observed across studies, excluding low-quality studies resulted changes prevalence estimate. Conclusions: indicates inclining trend IgG Turkey, particularly among younger populations, likely due vaccination program initiated 2012. Furthermore, regions highlights importance regional strategies. Future should focus provide more detailed data long-term explain differences seroprevalence.
