Gender, Socioeconomic Status, and Neighborhood Social Cohesion: Examining Their Influence on Students’ Academic Achievement

ABSTRACT
This study seeks to investigate how neighborhood social cohesion influences the academic achievement of students from different genders and family socioeconomic statuses. A cross-sectional design a purposive sampling technique were adopted collect data 448 secondary schools students’. The relationship, strength direction relationship among variables was determined by applying Chi-square, Kendall’s Tau-c tests hierarchical multiple regression tests. results portrayed that children’s significantly positively associated with, willingness neighbours assist one another (P<0.05, Tc = 0.168), neighbourhood trust 0.092) imitate relations 0.310). Furthermore, established status explained variation in children association with cohesion, however, no significant difference observed performance based on gender. In addition, hierarchal analysis family’s status, predictors (P<0.05) students’ achievement.
