ABSTRACT
The objective of this study was to investigate the association between SNPs in TIE2 and ANGPT-1 genes diabetic retinopathy (DR).This comprised 603 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) DR (cases) 388 T2DM for more than 10 years without (controls). rs639225 (A/G) rs638203 rs4324901 (G/T) rs2507800 (T/A) were genotyped by real-time PCR using TaqMan MGB probes. The G/G genotype rs639225/TIE2, rs638203/ T allele rs4324901/ANGPT-1 associated protection against after adjustment age, glycated hemoglobin, gender, presence hypertension (P = 0.042, P 0.003, 0.028, respectively). No found rs2507800/ANGPT-1 SNP DR.We demonstrated, first time, rsrs939225 a Brazilian population.
