ABSTRACT
Thoracoscopic resection of small pulmonary nodules (SPNs) is challenging. Accurate preoperative computed tomography-guided localization SPNs key to successful rection. The aim the present study was evaluate clinical value a novel needle and methylene blue staining combined with surgical glue (MBSG) explore risk factors for post-localization complications. This prospective, non-randomized controlled conducted on 110 patients who received either MBSG or prior video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) from January 2019 December at Shenzhen People's Hospital. primary endpoints were safety success rates 2 techniques. secondary operative time feasibility. The categorized into groups: group (n=84) nodule (n=26). rate pre-VATS 100% in both groups. No deaths serious complications occurred during localization. pneumothorax, hemorrhage, localization-induced cough 38.1%, 25%, 7.14%, respectively, group, 26.92%, 19.23%, 0%, group. Differences between groups not statistically significant (P>0.05). Total complication incidence pain significantly lower (χ2=4.441 4.295, respectively; P<0.05). difference Dye diffusion group; however, it had no impact VATS pathological analysis. Neither displacement nor dislocation observed Logistic regression analysis showed that technique an independent factor total (odds ratio: 2.634, 95% confidence interval: 1.022-6.789, P<0.05).Both techniques can localize effectively VATS. has complications.
