ABSTRACT
Uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) although considered less invasive than the multi-port techniques, is still an intercostal approach, resulting in nerve injury. Recently, some surgeons have tried to address this problem by attempting a subxiphoid approach. The aim of our study was assess and compare results between uniportal VATS lobectomy terms postoperative pain quality life (QoL).Patients from January 2014 2018 undergoing were prospectively assessed for QoL at 1, 3, 6 months following discharge. Postoperative measured using numeric rating scale (NRS) with EuroQoL 5-dimension questionnaire (EQ5D).Eight hundred thirty-three patients included: 373 group 459 group. proportion moderate or worse clinical significantly lower 1 3 after (P<0.01) compared VATS. higher these same time points (P<0.001).Uniportal safe feasible minimally approach undertaking pulmonary that may result reduced conventional There also be earlier return QoL. A randomized controlled trial examining further would provide insight into observations.
