ABSTRACT
Ultrasound (US)-guided percutaneous needle biopsy is a useful diagnostic technique with short examination time and real-time monitoring at the bedside. However, there are only few studies that report on thoracic lesions, whereas computed tomography (CT)-guided well established. There also limited data comparing US- CT-guided biopsy. We aimed to clarify efficacy safety of US-guided for lesions adjacent chest wall.We retrospectively enrolled consecutive patients who underwent or biopsies wall between April 2012 December 2017. Clinical characteristics, lesion size, lesion-pleura contact arc length (LPCAL), rate, complications were compared 2 groups. This study 61 70 biopsies. No significant difference was found in age sex. The size LPCAL group significantly larger than those (P<0.0001). rate marginally higher (93.4%) (84.3%) (P=0.101). When median cut-off defined as 40 mm all cases, >40 (P=0.009). Complication rates lower (3.3%) (24.3%) (P<0.001).US-guided feasible because its longer reduced complications.
