ABSTRACT
The Latarjet procedure has been used commonly for extra-articular treatment of anterior glenohumeral joint instability. Recently, the technique also as a bone-grafting to repair large glenoid defects. "sling effect" and "bone-block have proposed stabilizing mechanisms this procedure. aim study was determine procedure.Eight fresh-frozen shoulders were prepared tested with use custom testing machine instrumented load cell. With 50-N axial force applied humerus, humeral head translated anteriorly. Translational measured at both end-range mid-range arm positions, capsule intact, after creation Bankart lesion, defect, no then three different sets loads subscapularis conjoint tendons. Then, these two tendons removed observe contribution sling effect stability. Finally, sutures attaching coracoacromial ligament capsular flap in order that attachment. The translational force, which decreased significantly lesion or returned intact-condition level performed. At position, by 76% 77% changed, remaining 23% 24% contributed suturing flap. 51% 62%, 38% 49% reconstruction glenoid. The main mechanism positions. The remains an effective restoring stability unstable joint, particularly when there is bone deficiency.
