ABSTRACT
We have developed 3-dimensional (3D) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) analysis software that allows measurement of the projected cartilage area ratio with a particular thickness intended to allow quantitation in knee. Our aims this study were validate both pig and human knees examine patients reporting knee pain. After 3D MRI reconstruction, femoral was onto flat surface. The determined using our software, compared obtained other software. (for ≥1.5 mm) at 4 segments also validated knees. Finally, changes examined 8 pain who had undergone 2 MR images 3 21-month intervals. The areas each segment an intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) 0.87 0.99 (n = 16) between readers 0.76 20) measurements on repeat images. most affected significantly decreased pairs intervals 21 months. We proposed novel evaluation method quantify amount This low error knees. The based may serve as sensitive for assessing over time.
